National Junior Horticultural Association Meeting in Spartanberg

A great volunteer opportunity

Each year the NJHA holds its convention during the first weekend of October at a different host city.
Spartenberg was selected as the 2008 host.
the annual meeting provides a wide-ranging group of projects and activities covering all areas of horticulture.
Convention events include contests in the horticultural demonstrations, public and extemporaneous speaking- included are contests such as:

• Achievement and Leadership
• Speeches
• Horticulture Essays And many more.
  
  Additionally, workshops and tours of local horticulture industries and local points of interest are scheduled.
  MG voluntees will be able to attend Association Workships with topics such as:
  • "Deep Planting KillsTrees"
  • "Even You Can Start Seeds"
  • "Edible Flowers"
  • Flower Arranging Workship"

This is a sanctioned MGAP Volunteer hours program. volunteers are needed to assist in the NJHA on Saturday October 11, 2008.

We also need drivers to pick up students at the GSP and transport them to the Marriott.

This is an outstanding opportunity for MGAP and the Spartenberg community.
